Silicone mold
Cast resin, plaster, wax or soap. A printed box you fill with silicone. The set silicone is the mold: it stretches off shapes plaster would lock.
Bring: Figures, tiles and anything with undercuts.
How it works
- Bring a model: upload your own STL, OBJ, GLB, PLY or 3MF, or start from an example. It is checked and, if it needs it, repaired.
- Pick the pieces: the mold is planned on the model, with where it would lock and where air would be caught, then generated.
- Get the print files: the cases are cut to fit your printer bed, with pins so they line up, and laid out on plates.
- Print the cases and pour: the pour sheet says how much plaster or silicone to mix, and in what order to work.
Open the silicone mold tool, or start from an example.
The other tools
- Slip-cast mold: Slip-cast a vessel or a figure. A plaster mold in pieces. Pour in liquid clay, wait for the wall to build, pour the rest back out.
- Press mold: Press tiles, sprigs and dishes. A plaster mold you press soft clay into: one open piece, or pieces that close on each other.
- Hump mold: Drape a dish over a hump. A plaster hump on a plinth. Roll a slab, drape it over, trim it along the line.
